Their way of making change is through modification and control … social engineering … and social ownership

If the most recent poll by Angus Reid proves anything at all, it is that Christy Clark’s ‘unite the right’ mantra should finally be put to rest and buried.

It also shows that no matter what the BC Liberals decide to call themselves in the future, it will not make one bit of difference.  They will lose the next provincial election in one year from now … as sure as a dark evening sky will follow the sunshine I am enjoying here in Kamloops today.

Here in the Interior of the province, the Angus Reid poll indicates:
“… the New Democrats are first with 48 per cent, while the BC Conservatives are second with 26 per cent. Support for BC Liberals in the Interior has fallen to 18 per cent.”

Details of this survey also show that:
The BC Liberals are only holding on to roughly half of their voters in the last provincial ballot (48%). Along with the 20 per cent of 2009 BC Liberal voters who are now saying they would vote for the Dix-led NDP, the governing party is losing 30 per cent of its past electors to the BC Conservatives.”

Are you familiar with the phrase, “The King is dead. Long live the King”?  According to Wikipedia, the phrase arose from … the law of le mort saisit le vif—that the transfer of sovereignty occurs instantaneously upon the moment of death of the previous monarch. "The King is dead" is the announcement of a monarch who has just died. "Long live the King!" refers to the heir who immediately succeeds to a throne upon the death of the preceding monarch.

In May 2013, there will be a transfer of power, and at the moment, it appears that this transfer may be going to the BC New Democrats.

BUT … do people know and realize what that transfer of power will mean – or are they simply going back to BC’s age old tradition of kicking out the guys that are in power.

Those swing voters, who are indicating they currently support the NDP, really need to read the following so they are fully aware of what a vote for the NDP will mean.

The “Preamble” in the Constitution of the New Democratic Party of British Columbia states:

The New Democratic Party believes that social, economic and political progress in Canada can only be assured by the application of democratic socialist principles to government and the administration of public affairs.

The principles of democratic socialism can be defined briefly as follows:
a) the production and distribution of goods and services shall be directed to meeting the social and individual needs of people and not for profit,
b) the modification and control of the operations of monopolistic productive and distributive organizations through economic and social planning, towards these ends, and
c) where necessary, the extension of the principle of social ownership.

It is clear the people of BC are fed up with the Liberals – and I believe that leave us with one alternative that the people of BC can consider – the BC Conservative Party, led by John Cummins.

Let’s leave talk of uniting the right, and the free-enterprise coalition, out of the equation.

Instead, let’s look at the differences between the BC Liberal Party … and the BC Conservative Party … and then say, “Which party can best lead us to the future I wish to see for our province, and for my family.”

I did that over a year and a half ago, and I chose to support a party that wants to lead and govern with common sense.

A common sense approach to taxes and fees … a common sense approach to protection of the environment and generating jobs … to ensuring we have a “justice” system … to finding the best means of creating an education system that does put students as the number one priority … to finding ways to provide the best health care possible.

Those are issues which we all seem to have concerns about … and they are issues that the BC Conservative Party can and will address.

The alternative?  As the Preamble to the Constitution of the NDP states, their way of making change is through modification and controlsocial engineering … and social ownership.

Is that a change that you can support?

There is no so-called ‘free-enterprise’ option … there is no ‘big tent’ party.

What we do have however is the Christy Clark Liberal Party with big government, big spending, and top down direction as their priorities … and the BC Conservative Party which represents accountability and a common sense approach to how government should function.

... Modification and control … social engineering … and social ownership

VS ... Big government, big spending, and top down direction

VS … Accountability and a common sense approach to how government should function.

To me the choice seems clear, but I’m interested in hearing what you have to say.

I’m Alan Forseth in Kamloops, with the thoughts of one conservative.

British Coumbians have to be very wary and diligent when it comes to deciding who to vote for next May 2013. The NDP are Socialists through and through and have no interest in democracy, individual (property)rights or fair taxation.

The BC Libs are corrupt, totally untrustworthy and self-serving and primary blame for that lies at the feet of Gordon Campbell!

Neither the BC Grits nor NDP can be trusted to totally repeal the BC Human Rights legislation and scrap the BC HRC. Protection of rights of taxpayers to protect themselves from criminal attack and unaccountable cops/crown counsel from charges while trying to protect themselves and family. ONLY the BC Conservative Pty can be trusted to pass legislation to prevent the Crown to press charges against all home owners and fully recognise their charter rights in such issues.

British Columbians have exactly 1 year to "fully educate" themselves in regards to what party is best to govern BC. Electing either the NDP or BC Libs is no longer acceptable in a true multiparty democracy whatever the left wing biased media tries to preach! BC Conservatives are a very good fiscally responsible alternative and their policies should be far more actively promoted! Such alternative sympathetic media sources are the Sun News Network, both press and TV.

You've made some great points ... I fully agree. I also hope that people will take to heart your comment that, "British Columbians have exactly 1 year to 'fully educate' themselves in regards to what party is best to govern BC"
