This has now become a government that is completely arrogant, and fails to realize that by their very actions they are hurting small middle class families

The other day a friend of mine (Alvin) sent out an email with regards to ICBC, the rate increases we can expect from them, and what the salaries of the top executives are for this government owned corporation.

Sometime later, I received a copy of a response that was sent to Alvin, from someone he knows.

I read and considered it for a while, and then realized that he, like many other British Columbians, are looking for confidence – confidence that what they are considering (a move to the BC Conservative Party) can make BC a better place to live ... to work ... and to raise a family.

I don’t know this person (Brian) --- I’ve never met him.  I decided however to send a reply to him.  I’d like to share that with you, but first however are the words of Alvin’s friend, Brian

Alvin

Thanks for the email, but please tell me where the BC Conservative's will replace the "dividends" the provincial government currently gets, higher personal, corporate, sales tax?

I understand yours and all of us right wing individual’s frustration, but this province DOES NOT have room for TWO right of centre parties, PERIOD.....

The growth in the BC Conservatives, will lead to at least 2 terms of Socialist governance. If you thought the BC Liberals were ruining this province, wait for what lies in store with Mr Dix.

The Conservative wing of the "Liberal" coalition was out manoeuvered by Christy Clark, then learn something from it and beat her at her own game.  Don't like the name, then sell more memberships, pack the annual meetings and have it changed.

But, having this idealistic view that the BC Conservatives can alone take the reins of Government is not possible without of right if centre Liberals.

If you would like to discuss this further, I would be happy too,

Brian

Here again is the response, which I sent to him:

Hi Brian ...

I am not sure why, however I am one of the people that received a copy of your email to Alvin.  I am also one of the people who can NO LONGER support, or vote for, the BC Liberals.

Never mind the lies ... rising debt ... and unaccountability.

This has now become a government that is completely arrogant, and fails to realize that by their very actions they are hurting small middle class families.  They have no concept of accountability, and lack an understanding that MLA's need to be accountable to the people who have elected them.

I am a small 'c' conservative, and I was once also inside the tent as a member of the BC Liberal Party.  Some years back I let my membership lapse as I began to see the first signs of what was to come -- I still gave them my vote however.

I can no longer do that, and have been actively working as a member of the BC Conservative Party for the past two years.  The BC Liberal Party does not own my vote --- or your vote --- but they act as if they do.  Does that not speak to a government that is arrogant?

The BC Liberal Party will lose the next election -- regardless of whether the BC Conservatives run candidates or not.  The writing for that has been on the wall for well over a year now.

You seem to know Alvin and so I would encourage you to talk to him --- JOIN THE PARTY -- and make sure that if nothing else that we have a strong BC Conservative opposition in the legislature following the next general election in 2013.

The BC Liberals will not win again -- they have sealed their own fate.

If you desire real change ... an accountable government that is fiscally responsible but that also has a social conscience ... then we need you.  Join us, and let's set this province back on course!

Sincerely,
Alan Forseth

I believe there are many in the province thinking the same things as this fellow, Brian.  If you are one of them, this is what I would like to say to you, "The BC Liberal Party does NOT own your vote; they should earn it."

I for one do not believe they have, and if you agree with that, then I encourage you to do as I suggested to Brian … JOIN THE PARTY, and make sure that if nothing else that we have a strong BC Conservative opposition in the legislature following the next general election in 2013.

The BC Liberals will not win again -- they have sealed their own fate.

I’m Alan Forseth in Kamloops, with the thoughts of one conservative.
