It may talk like a duck … but it sure as heck doesn't walk like one

Premier Christy Clark -- "Iron Snowbird"?

It is truly remarkable --- actually truly unbelievable, the heights of hypocrisy that Christy Clark will use, and go to, in her attempt to appear what she truly is not.

Christy Clark comes from the lineage of Federal Liberals, her heritage is the Federal Liberal Party, and on top of that, it's from the left leaning side of the 'federal' Liberal Party.

I'm reminded of an old saying. Remember this one? If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck …

No … wait a minute ... somethings not quite right here. This duck may talk like a duck … but it sure as heck doesn't walk like one. There is NOTHING conservative about Christy Clark. Not small 'c' … or capitol “C” … make no mistake about it.

A story ran on Saturday in both the Vancouver Sun … and the Times Colonist. The Times Colonist story was titled “Clark lauded as 'iron snowbird'” and it part it said:
Clark is in the fight of her political life due to the challenge from a number of Manning's former Reform MPs who have moved into provincial politics under former MP John Cummins, the B.C. Conservative leader.
The premier has enlisted Manning and two of the Reform founder's former top MPs, including ex-Harper ministers Chuck Strahl and Jay Hill, to blunt the attack from the right.
So far that hasn't paid off. Manning said publicly in October that he supports Clark, not Cummins, as the best bet to keep the NDP from taking power. But polls consistently show the B.C. Liberals are well behind the NDP …

Christy Clark may walk like a duck, but it's a Liberal Duck … and Christy Clark may talk like a duck, but it's a Liberal Duck.

Christy Clark can surround herself with as many former Reformers as she likes … but she will still be a Liberal Duck.

And those former reformers who once had ideals and beliefs that put the people who had elected them first and foremost --- well you can decide for yourself what you want to call them.

I have already spoken several times on what is understandably the dismay and disbelief of many, in how far Preston Manning has strayed from the principles that had him, and many others from western Canada, begin the reform movement.

Not all however have done so.

The original principles of government accountability to the people who have elected them … and a belief in the common sense of the grassroots … is alive and well within the BC Conservative Party.

It is alive and well in former federal Reform / Conservative MPs like BC Conservative Party President Reed Elley … in BC Conservative Party leader John Cummins … and in others like Paul Forseth … Darrel Stinson … Jim Hart … and others.

It is also alive and well in the first BC Conservative candidates that will run in up-coming by-elections; John Martin for Chilliwack Hope … and Christine Clarke in Port Moody Coquitlam.

These two, John Martin and Christine Clarke, are indeed small 'c' conservatives … and believers in the grassroots common sense.

Preston Manning, you're welcome to your so-called 'iron snowbird'. While you called her that, and also said she reminds you of another former Reformer Deborah Grey, in actuallity you may have aptly named her.

When the general election of 2013 is over, that 'iron snowbird' won't have taken flight – instead, it will have crashed to the ground on take-off.

I'm Alan Forseth … and these are the thoughts of one conservative.

Alan, I can't help think that Mr Manning is a bitter man. though he was part of the original Reform group, he lost his power of persuasion when they formed the Alliance. Previous to that Mr Harper had deserted the fold for reasons I've never been privy to. To see the 'turn-coat' unite the backstabbers, the appeasers and what was left of those who support a little freedom and then muzzle the dissenting voices and finally taking the ultimate prize, Prime Minister of Canada.
I wonder if, underneath the pleasantry there lives a bitter man. His support for the inconsiderate, arrogant Liberal party of BC causes me to think that.

Bitter man??? I certainly hope not --- I honestly have no idea what would case a person to do a 180 on what they once beleived. It is simply a real disappointment
