BC Liberals were quick to blame their demise in the polls on John Cummins and the BC Conservative
Party, as they trotted out the old “Don't Split the Vote” argument.
It’s B.S. and they know it. Here’s what that Angus
Reid Poll also had to say:
“New Democrats are holding on to 84 per cent of the voters that
supported the party in the 2009 provincial election, while the BC Liberals are
only keeping two thirds of their past voters (67%) … ”
Taking that information to the next level, it means that even if you
add back in the losses the BC Liberals have suffered in voter support, the NDP would still statistically
win as the following shows:
NDP … 40% + 1/6th loss of voters = 47.5%
Liberals … 31% + 1/3 loss of voters = 46.5%
Liberals … 31% + 1/3 loss of voters = 46.5%
Here are the REAL questions the BC Liberals – and the media -- should be
asking. Why is that fully one third of the people who voted in the last provincial
election have left them … and what are they doing (or not doing) that has seen
the BC Conservative Party grow to have the support of 1 in 5 voters?
This is not a flash in the pan poll! Four consecutive polls in the past
year (2 by the Mustell Group and 2 by Angus-Reid) have all shown the BC Conservative Party
steadily increasing in popular support!
The BC Liberals are arrogant -- they are not accountable to us -- they
have allowed for a culture of greed to grow as executives at BC Hydro,
Community Living BC, and BC Ferries paid themselves big fat bonuses -- they have ___ fill in your own reason(s) here ____.
Just as important, or perhaps more so, is the fact that our MLA’s are
not accountable to us, they simply toe the party line and do as they are told.
What we need are common sense ideas … and common sense people … in the BC
Legislature.
I'm Alan Forseth in Kamloops, and these are the thoughts of one conservative.
