This tour, of questionable value to the people of BC, is indeed a mystery.

I have to say I am looking forward to approval of BC Conservative policy platform, this weekend, at the parties AGM being held in Nanaimo.  This is a document that has substance and common sense, and one the party can feel good about taking to the people of BC!!

Why do I say that?  Well it was tongue in cheek I know, but I started off on Monday calling this week’s jobs strategy blitz, by Christy Clark, the "Can You See My Now Tour".  Given we are now on day number four of the tour … and given the lack of substance so far … I think I am going to have to come up with a new name.

The name I have chosen is Christy Clarks "Magical Mystery Tour".

This tour, of questionable value to the people of BC, is indeed a mystery.  Did we really need to have Christy Clark parade across the province making daily announcements about how the BC Liberal government was going to go about making the province a better place for job creation??

NO --- I don’t think so --- so indeed then, this is the “Magical Mystery Tour”.

The people of BC do not need hype --- we do not need razzle dazzle --- we just need good government.  We need good government that will operate with a principle of using common sense.

Today BC Conservative John Cummins said, “At a time of economic difficulty people not only want to hear there is hope, they need a plan that gives them real solutions.  This week the Liberal government has fallen far short on providing leadership in these tough economic times.”

In his Opinion / Editorial today in the Province newspaper, Michael Smyth said, "But much of Clark's pro-business focus today is aimed at Cummins, because the Libs are so afraid of losing right-wing support to those upstart Tories."

Here’s what a friend of mine said the other day:
"When will politicians realize that the votes belong to the voters, not to the parties? If the BC Liberals had been doing a fantastic job, there wouldn't BE a resurgence of the BC Conservatives."

He is right, and if Christy Clark and the BC Liberals had indeed been providing good government, then the BC Conservatives would not have emerged from political purgatory.

I’m Alan Forseth in Kamloops ... with the thoughts, and questions, of one conservative.
