It's been a great Summer --- but now it's time to get back to work!!

For starters, I'd like to pass along a news story of another very experienced MP who will be seeking the nomination to run in the next provincial election under the BC Conservative banner --- it's Paul Forseth from New Westminster.  He sat as an MP for the Reform Party, Canadian Alliance, and Conservative in Ottawa between 1993 and 2006.

He joins another former Reform MP, Jim Hart who has also declared that he plans to seek a BC Conservative nomination --- and of course our party leader John Cummins.  From municipal ranks, provincial ranks, and federal ranks, we are assembling a great team of people that will be running as candidates-- and who will help guide us in the next provincial election.

This team includes include former Conservative and Reform MP Randy White ... former Social Credit premier Rita Johnston along with former Newfoundland Conservative premier Brian Peckford ... former Reform MP's Darryl Stinson, Andy Burton and Reed Elley ... former Cowichan Lake Mayor Jack Peake ... Hamish Marshall who worked on national Conservative campaign team in 2006 and 2008 and provincial campaigns in 8 provinces) ... along with our party president Wayne McGrath who was a three-term Vernon mayor ... and many many others.

BUT WE NEED YOU TOO ... amongst the BC Conservative membership right here in the interior is a wealth of knowledge and expertise in many many areas of life, business, trades, professions and more.  To win the next election we'll need to tap into all of that experience.  Are you willing to share it??   Whether it's a few minutes a week, or a few hours, it all counts to helping to win the next provincial election so give me a call today.

And to wrap up today, in the Kamloops Daily News this morning was a Letter to the Editor entitled "
Cutting Home Support for Seniors Wrong Strategy".

In my opinion this is just another example of the slide BC Liberals are taking in abandoning their role to provide care to those who need it. Large care facilities were closed in favor of smaller facilities in the communities for those with physical and mental difficulties, now they are trying to move people from them and into basically little more than foster care.  The same has happened for the elderly ... and now this.

This government is showing themselves to more and more be out of touch with the will of the people.  Government MUST BE responsible and accountable to the people that they serve.  Unfortunately Premier Christy Clark, and the rest of her Liberal MLA's are proving daily they have no concept or idea of what that means.

It's your future ... it's your province ... are you ready to step up to the plate and do what you can to bring about common sense change??

As radio open-liners used to say ... "The phone lines are open now" so I look forward to hearing from you soon :)

In Kamloops I'm Alan Forseth ... with the thoughts of one conservative.
