Is Christy Clark and
the BC Liberal governments new Job Strategy program really going to take credit
for new mining jobs, for projects that were already in planning … development …
or ready to start up?
A story by Cam Fortems, in the Kamloops Daily News says that, “Kamloops
will play a major role if Premier Christy Clark’s jobs plan is to produce
results within four years. The city
could be home to two of eight new mines Clark pledged will open by 2015. New
Gold Inc. is scheduled to start production at New Afton next year, while
KGHM-Ajax is hoping to start production in 2015”
That's a pretty sweet
deal considering she is looking at just 3,000 jobs total created from all of
her announcements.
There is NO WAY any new mines are going to come
online in the next 4 years as a result of this week’s job strategy
announcements. That’s why this week’s traveling sideshow was nothing more than an opportunity for Christy Clark to give
the illusion something was being done, when in reality it is not.
Each appearance by
Christy Clark should have been prefaced with an announcement that stated,
"The following is a taxpayer funded
commercial message for Christy Clark and the BC Liberal Party.”
What a joke ... this government
isn't sad ... it's pathetic!!
I don’t know about
you, but I would really like to know how much this week’s charade has cost the
BC taxpayers. In fact, we should be demanding
to know what it has cost!
I’m Alan Forseth in
Kamloops, and these are the thoughts of one conservative.

I am disgusted with this "jobs program". Christy Clark said she spent her entire summer thinking about and working on this "jobs plan". A plan to "protect and create" jobs in British Columbia. She has done nothing but recycle old ideas, make ridiculous announcements, throw a couple of dollars around and try to take credit for projects already in the pipeline! People of BC, do not be fooled. This government is completely out of gas and is only running on the bovine expulsions and related methane spewed by their "leader". The time for change is now and it is coming via the BC Conservatives!
