BC job plan? What a joke! I had to move to Alberta just to make good money to support my family

WOW ... I have to say I am surprised that many of the comments, posted to the BC JobsPlan Facebook page, have not been removed.  They paint a VERY unflattering picture of what people think of Christy Clark's BC Liberal government.

Here's a snapshot of what I read today at noon:

Rather than blocking me from posting on CC fb page (because I got tired of her spam) for calling it spam, which is what it is. Maybe an idea would be to stop posting spam (just like this page) on mine. Or keep it up, that way this will be really fresh in my mind come election day. That's a great idea. Keep it up.

Why am I seeing jobs bc ads on every SportsNet
video highlight? What is this costing?

put people to work with the money, and stop spending on expensive commercials telling us about your plan. i start next week on a major job in the northern part of the province...i bet i don't see one new apprentice. But i will see two hundred commercials before i go.

Waste of time ... seriously..

more wasted tax payers money

the 15 million spent on this ad campaign by the BC Liberals could have been done for free through news releases and the ad money used to help the people in need of training to gain training for good jobs, that will make them pay good taxes . all we get is 15 million spent on political propaganda and someone actually things that is cool!

Must be an election looming, the Fiberals are pulling out all the stops

Governments cannot create anything, they only feed their own creation, another level of bureaucracy that sucks up funding ! ! !

Your Jobs Plan is Fraud!

The Liberal Government has caused the largest unemployment in a single stroke than any Government ever. Twenty five thousand good paying jobs gone. Any new job created are part time at minimum wage. An unlivable income

Stop wasting all this money, at least come up with a new disguise for the ads for your party

It is amazing how much money our government is suddenly spending on propaganda. It clearly shows that a "BC Jobs Plan" is needed now, 3 1/2 months before the election, because our Liberal government has done nothing for the past four years! There should be an "unlike" button on these ads.

BC Liberal MLA John Rustad recently asked the question; “If the Wildrose wins a big majority in Alberta, what impact do you think it might have in Canadian politics or on other provinces?”

It’s a good question, and at the time of writing this (Sunday afternoon), I don’t know what the results of tomorrows General Election in Alberta are, or will be.  It did however generate a number of responses.

Bill K. stated, “The West is blue… and it`s proven that Canadian political parties don`t need Quebec to get a majority any more. The decades of Eastern domination are over and political parties no longer have to suck up to Quebec.”

Followed by Bryan V. who commented, “After years of Conservative governments, the transition will be slow, could take another term in office. The first term for the B.C. Liberals was transition and organization. I never did like a 2 horse race to the wire. Not exciting”

Not wanting to be left out of the discussion I posted, “I believe it will indeed continue into BC. The results Thursday showed people not only want change -- they want choice. This is something, in all due respect, that Christy Clark has yet to realize.”

Kurt Langmann, who is the Editor in Chief of the Aldergrove Star chimed in by saying, “Interesting times ahead if projections and trends continue. A "firewall" Alberta vs an NDP B.C., a PQ Quebec, and serious economic problems in Ontario and Manitoba. Who would ever have thought that Saskatchewan and Nfld might become the nation's bright lights?”

That was just the start, as many comments followed by a number of people:

and Pierre are right; women, children, and those in need beware.

Those who get the Kamloops Daily News will have seen a Letter to the Editor that I submitted, and which ran in Saturday’s paper.  It was actually an edited version of a blog post I did.  The letter went as follows:

After winning the leadership of the B.C. Liberal Party Christy Clark stated: "I want you to be my partners in change in Victoria. I want you to be my partners in bringing open government. You can count on me to listen, you can count on me to engage, and you can count on me to make sure government really does include you. I have specific ideas on how to do these things but I also need to hear from you," she said.

"My top priority will be to put families first. In British Columbia we are blessed with families of all shapes and sizes, families as diverse as our great province. This is the foundation of our communities. This is the building block of our future."

What a difference a little over a year makes.

Since then her government has gone from one crisis to another … she has watched as people who last election voted Liberal, have moved to both the B.C. Conservative Party, and the NDP … saw a former Liberal cabinet Minister (John van Dongen) switch to the Conservatives… and she’s seen one story after the other saying the Liberals may actually come third in the upcoming byelections.

She has also watched as both her approval rating and the fortunes of the B.C. Liberals have fallen in poll after poll.

Now, from all sides of the political spectrum, people are beginning to question if she can even survive as leader of the party before the next general election to be held in May 2013.

When Clark announced she planned to seek the leadership of the B.C. Liberal Party, these are the opening and closing words which she spoke: “I am running for leader of the B.C. Liberals – and to lead us to an election victory over the NDP – to bring new leadership to our province. That means more than simply a new premier, it means a new way of doing business for our government.”

 “… with me you can count on a leader who is direct, responsive, and committed to bringing positive, prosperous change to B.C.”

Again, what a difference a little over a year can make; which is why people are asking, “How long can Christy Clark last?”
